Interfaith Hospitality Network
a
Our next times to host are
July 6 - 13   *   October 5 - 12
So what's IHN, you may be asking.  IHN stands for Interfaith Hospitality Network.  It is a national program that provides shelter, meals and support to families without homes. Families stay in a church for one week.  During the day the families get assistance at the IHN Day Center in finding permanent housing and a job, if needed.

There are numerous ways to volunteer at RCC during our week of hosting IHN guests. Please see  the sign-up board in the narthex.

If you would like to help with driving, please contact the church office at 289-2990 in order to contact the driving coordinator.

Thank you for your gift of time!

A Note About IHN Donations

IHN exists to help homeless families achieve and sustain their independence. This requires both volunteers to run the program and monetary donations to operate the Day Center.

If you would like to make a monetary donation to help support the ministry of IHN in Greater Rochester, there are envelopes in the narthex for you to use.

The envelopes are located in the IHN brochure holder.  Please make your check payable to Rochester Covenant Church and mark "IHN donation" in the memo.  Please place the envelope in the offering plate.  Thank you for your support.

Perhaps there are some of you in the congregation who believe in the ministry of IHN but your schedule doesn't allow for you to work at church.  Here are some other ways of helping out:

  • Drop off and pick up the laundry (sheets, pillowcases and towels) from Clothing Care Center after our week of hosting.  Clothing Care does the laundry free of charge.
  • Be a car driver.  We currently have a group of people who share the responsibility of driving the van to the Day Center; it would be good to have car drivers.  Car drivers would be used when a guest needs special transportation, such as a ride to work, and it is not necessary to take the van.
  • Donate used flannel sheets (twin size), pillow cases or mattress pads (any size) for use here at Rochester Covenant Church.
Please call the church office at 289-2990 if you'd like to help out in any of the ways listed above.
