Music Ministries
| "Sing praise to the
Lord; tell the wonderful things He has done. Be glad that we belong
to Him, let all who worship Him rejoice."
Psalm 105:2,3
The Music Ministry of Rochester Covenant Church is a vital part
of our congregation, offering a choral experience for everyone from age
four to adult! In addition to regularly contributing in worship services,
the Cherub Choir (age four to grade 2)
and the Choristers (grades 3 - 6)
use the Stepping Stones curriculum, and the Choristers participate
in several community-wide festivals. Our Youth
Handbell Choir (grade 5 and above) rings 3 octaves of Schulmerich
handbells. Our Youth Choir (grades
7 - 12) goes on tour every spring. Sanctuary
Choir (adults), the "musical backbone" of our Sunday morning worship,
also prepares special larger choral works once or twice a year.
Our Worship Teams provide primary
leadership in the 11:15 am service and occasionally assist in the 8:45
am service.

Special Music
We are always interested in knowing of instrumentalists who are willing
to use their talent in our worship services, whether as a soloist or accompanying
one of our choirs. If you would like to offer your talent, sign up
on the registration form available from the church office or on the literature
rack in the narthex. Indicate what instrument you play and your level
of proficiency (i.e., how long you have been playing, and in what situations
you have played). |

Bells-a-Ringing, our handbell choir for
youth and adults, rings in worship as well as performing around town for
special events.
Wednesday Night Fellowship Dinnersprovide
an inexpensive, nutritious meal for those participating in our music groups'
rehearsals, as well as for those who come just for the meal and the fellowship.
On some Sunday mornings, our whole congregation joins together for a
time of informal singing to help prepare our hearts and minds to worship
God. Other times one of our organists will lead us in pre-service
meditation on our 29-rank Quimby pipe organ.
Whatever the time or group, we recognize the power of music to draw
people together as we worship our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ!
