| Our Priorities
I begin each morning with an exercise that has helped me in my goal
to stay mentally & spiritually "fit." I find that when I awaken
my first thoughts are, "Lord, it looks like you've given me another day
to walk with you..., give me wisdom and clarity to make the most of it
for you."
I have found that thinking through what my priorities are helps me to
be passionate about living for them.
Below I have listed what the Youth & Family Ministry is all about.
This is what is most important to me, our volunteers, our staff, and our
leaders.
Our Purpose
To invite students and their families into a
genuine, loving relationship with Jesus Christ and help them to become
fully devoted followers of Him.
Our Passion
To provide a fun & caring environment to
our students that is...
Relational in its focus - a genuinely
caring setting for students to grow and mature in their relationship with
Jesus Christ and others.
Relevant to their needs - a place
where students can find "real" answers by discovering what the Bible has
to say about their lives and their struggles.
Reaching Out to others - empowering
and equipping students to share the compassion and message of Jesus Christ
to others. |
There is so much God has been doing in the lives
of our youth & their families. Our focus this year has been on
serving the Lord out of a heart of compassion. We have seen students
surrender their lives to the Lord and live for Him. In the midst
of crisis and loss, Jesus has been meeting the needs of those in pain.
God IS at work in us and through us!!!
One of the treasured memories from last year was our Mission Trip to
the Yucatán Peninsula of Mexico. The church in the heart of
Cancun has a passion to reach out in genuine love to their friends and
neighbors. We were able to help them with a Vacation Bible School,
fixing up the church in town, and putting up a church in a rural neighborhood
30 minutes away.
It was a life-changing experience for the many who went. We learned
that joy is not in having more or being more comfortable, but in taking
a risk to serve the Lord out of our weaknesses. It was at those moments
we discovered how the Lord's strength is perfected in our weaknesses.
I am thankful to be partnering with a church family who is committed
to sharing their lives and the love of Jesus with our children and youth.
Let's move into this next year with our eyes "fixed on Jesus."
He will complete the work He has started. He is faithful!
That's Good News!
