Our Ministry to Youth is one of the passions
of our church. We have over 100 students in grades 6 through 12 actively
participating in Youth Group activities.
Our Purpose is
to invite students and their families into a genuine, loving relationship
with Jesus Christ and help them to become fully devoted followers of Him.
Our Passion is
to provide a fun & caring environment to our students that is...
Relational in its focus
- a genuinely caring setting for students to grow and mature in their relationship
with Jesus Christ and others.
Relevant to their needs - a place
where students can find "real" answers by discovering what the Bible has
to say about their lives and their struggles.
Reaching Out to others - empowering
and equipping students to share the compassion and message of Jesus Christ
to others.
The many parents, leaders, and other adults involved
in the ministry make these goals a reality.

Our Youth Groups offer a variety of activities that
appeal to students and help them to know God. We have Sunday morning
Discovery Hour for Senior High and Confirmation for Junior High.
We have an awesome Youth Choir that meets on Wednesday evenings.
Bible study and prayer take place on Monday nights in homes of our students.
We offer a variety of retreats and mission experiences for both Junior
and Senior High. Other activities include Drama Team, Breakaway events,
Lock-ins, Student Leadership Training, Senior High Brunches, and many other
times together.
We have a great time together and encourage ALL
our students to be involved!

Exemplary Youth Ministry
Study
| A recent nation wide study of churches in seven
denominations (Lutheran, Roman Catholic, Southern Baptist, Assembly of
God,
Presbyterian, United Methodist and Evangelical Covenant) was undertaken
by researchers from colleges, seminaries and the denominations. The
study sought to determine what successful churches are doing that result
in effective youth ministry. After being nominated as one of 630
exemplary congregations (90 from each denomination), then selected by researchers
as one of 210 (30 from each denomination), RCC was chosen as one of 21
congregations for an on-site interview. Out of all the youth programs
surveyed, RCC's ministry was rated the most effective! Read
the executive summary to learn more about what we are doing to help
our youth form deeper and closer relationships with Christ and with each
other. |
